My Story

Hi there, my name’s Julie Ann but all my friends call me “Jewels” for short ‘cause they say I’m such a “gem”! You should too ‘cause everyone is my friend ~ I love everybody! I was scheduled for euthanasia when my foster mother fell in love with my gorgeous smile. (Whew, that was close!) She says I’m always happy, smiling and full of life ~ FUN in motion AND a total house dog! Calm and quiet indoors, I’m extremely gentle with children but always up for a good romp with canine friends or a long walk/hike/run with my human(s). I absolutely live to play fetch ~ catching toys and/or Frisbees mid-air ~ and am always ready for a car ride, loading myself up easily; even in the largest model SUV’s! I get to go running with my friend Chris and he’s always amazed at my “perfect pace” and endurance. My foster Mom says I have great energy for a little dog because I’m not hyper. I guess that’s good since she doesn’t like “hyper” dogs… but who’s she callin “little”??? I got the biggest heart on the block! I do my very best to please her and everyone else I meet, it’s easy to be a good girl after coming so close to not being here at all. Just for the record, I’m house, crate and car trained, walk (or run) perfect on a slip lead, sit nicely for treats or doors and am super socialized ~ never met a dog or human I didn’t like ~ and I especially loooooooooove children who like to play with me! (Don’t care much for cats though… pesky things) Much as I love my foster friends, I’d really like to find a family of my very own ~ a special family that would cherish all the love and devotion one “little dog” will give you in return!
