My Story

Hi, I'm Joy! My foster mom says I'm the happiest dog she has ever fostered - joyful and a joy to be around. I was an emaciated stray when Bradford county shelter picked me up with my sister. No one knows where we came from, just that we were REALLY hungry. I got spayed right before the holiday weekend and came to Gainesville as an emergency medical foster instead of staying alone at the shelter with stitches. Since I am great with other dogs, cats, and kids, my foster asked Humane Society to be my agency. I'm still young and spazzy, but I'm also smart and learn quickly. I met a toddler the other day and gave very careful snuggles without knocking her over! I like yard zoomies, playing tag with other pups, meeting new people, puzzle bowls & chewing bones. I am learning to be a good house dog, and to be less enthusiastic with cats so they understand I just want to play. Quiet in my crate, easy on a leash, well behaved in the car, "Potty outside" trained, and gentle with kids -- I dare you to resist my squinty-eyed smile & happy wiggles!
