12/06/05: From His foster Mom: Just wanted to let you know that Joey aka: Geico is doing well. He is bright and so eager to please! I plan to weigh him and measure his height, as we are curious! He is so little next to Luna. He is eating three meals a day and playing with chew toys gallor..... We have also been making sure to get him used to hands around and in his food bowl while he eats. As it turned out, this was definitely not a problem area for him. He is shy at times coming out of his crate, but ---- he now knows "outside" and runs to the patio door to go out with Luna. He even runs across the deck himself and jumps down off of the stairs into the yard(Call that a flying leap!). He loves to mimic Luna. Last night on one of the playtimes outside, she was bringing him sticks to pull on with her. I loved that one as it was so far removed from the life he was living at the shelter. He does not bark yet, but at least he whines a bit now and then and gets a little growly with his toys in true puppy fashion (I was worried that he could not speak!). I had to take him out at 12:30 and 4:30 on the overnight last night and he woke me to do so, which I thought was really good for only his third overnight with us (No accidents!). And, he is so excited to hear "Good boy, Joey" after he pees/poops. His little butt just wiggles all over........ Very cute. He is not the least shy around typical house noises, except for Luna's Zap ball (Have you seen them?) as all the different noises it makes kind of scare him. However, last night after she played with it a lot in the kitchen with him, he walked right over to it, picked it up and brought it over to me. He didn't bounce it, but he did carry it over to me, which made me laugh.
12/04/05: Geico has arrived and is being fostered in NH. Please visit our homepage for more information on the adoption process.
From the Arkansas Shelter:Geico is a very cute little puppy. He was found by one of our animal shelter staff. He has been thru some tough times, and has somehow managed to get thru all of them. Geico was nearly starved to death and was unable to walk. Geico doesn't know what a loving home feels like! Please help him find out what it feels like!
