My Story

ADOPTION PENDING - Joey is about seven months old and he is very gentle and loving. He is just a little guy--weighing about 16 lbs.--and we think he is pretty much full grown. His picture makes him look like a big dog, so....just to give you an idea of his size, Joey is 16" tall (to the top of his back) and--when he stands up on his back legs (tippie toe)--the top of his head measures 35". We aren't sure what combination of breeds he is. Some people say he looks like he is part Chihuahua. Other folks think he might be part Doxie or part Dalmation. (What do YOU think?) Whatever combination of breeds he is, his unique coloration will certainly make him stand out in a crowd at the dog park! Joey is good with other dogs and cats, neutered, up to date on his immunizations, microchipped, wormed, and heartworm tested. We just recently took him into our rescue program, so we can't yet personally confirm what the shelter said about Joey, but they told us he was housetrained. However, because he is still a young dog and can't "hold it" too long (and because he loves to be with people), we would prefer that he be adopted by someone who is home much of the time so that he can be taken out frequently and so he can enjoy being with his family as much as possible. Joey would also enjoy a doggie playmate and a safely fenced yard. (Please note that we do NOT consider invisible fencing "safe", and will not adopt to anyone who depends on invisible fencing to safely contain a dog.) Because of Joey's small size, we would prefer that he not be adopted by a family with little children because we would worry that he might be inadvertently injured. Joey's adoption fee is $250. If you would like more information about him, please e-mail [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself and your living situation. If we feel you would be a good fit for him--and that he would be a good fit for you--we will then send you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
