Jethro

Jethro is a 2 1/2 year old Bluetick Coonhound. He would love nothing more than to curl up and watch a movie with you. He is very shy, but once he warms up he is an extremely sweet boy. He is a hunting breed, so he loves to be outside and will wander away if left unattended, like a typical coonhound. He does not get along with cats. (Honestly he likes to try to hunt them too). He gets along great with other dogs, but would prefer a home without small children. They make him a little bit nervous, but he will let very small children pet him. He has never shown any sign of aggression. In fact, he does the complete opposite. If he gets nervous or is uncomfortable, he'll go find a little place to curl up and be by himself. I often find him laying in the kennel with the door open. It seems to be his "safe place." He is a little thin, but our vet recommended giving him puppy food rather than adult food and he's slowly starting to gain back the weight. Jethro needs a loving home that is willing to be patient with him as he warms up to his new surroundings. He is really a sweet boy.
