My Story

Meet Jesse! This medium sized pup is a sweet girl that enjoys playing with toys, romping with her foster siblings, and snuggling with her foster mom! While Jesse does well with her foster mom, she tends to be overly shy when meeting new humans and having another fur friend really helps her bridge that gap with new humans. Because of this, it is required that she be adopted in a home with another compatible pup. She enjoys playing and has not shown any evidence of resource guarding. When it comes to her human companions, Jesse definitely shows a preference for the females in her foster home. She is not aggressive towards the male, but generally can be avoidant while males are standing or reaching for her. Once seated, she will approach male companions and accept pets and play time. Jesse has not been cat tested, but her behavior leads us to believe she would do ok with a feline friend when given time to adapt. She is potty trained on a routine and while she will go into her crate she much prefers being able to snuggle up on a dog bed or with her humans in bed at night. It is clear to us that Jesse has not always had the best life. In fact, medically she is a bit of a mystery. She was disagnoised with heartworm disease and had a large tumor removed from her abdomen. She is also missing a kidney. Due to the missng kidney, her heartworm is being treated via the "slow kill" method. She tolerates her monthly heartworm pill very well and shows zero signs of feeling unwell. If the vet hadn't told us about her missing kidney we would have no idea! We know that Jesse deserves to find a home that will lover her as much as we do and if someone gives her a chance we know there is no way they won't fall in love with this petite little princess!
