My Story

Born May 15, 1998, Jesper LIVES to hunt. Being a Wirehair, he is very prey driven and will not be placed with cats.

Jesper belonged to an older man. He was kenneled outside most all the time, and the owner simply could not get him the exercise he needed. Despite being his age, Jesper has a fairly high energy level. He does know how to sit, and possibly knows other commands.

Jesper adores running in the fenced yard here. He comes when he's called, and walks pretty good on a leash. He seems to want to play with other dogs, so we think he would be good with them. He did live with another Wirehair prior to being surrendered. He was trained to hunt pheasants, and is supposed to be a very impressive hunter.

I'll admit, I adore this 'old fart'. He's funny. Always glad to see you, he comes running over wiggling a bit. (He wouldn't dare be caught wiggling like a young pup!) He will do his bit of running around the yard right after being let out, then he comes to the fence wanting some attention. His coloration, as Wirehairs age, they simply look even more distinguished. He is no exception, I find him beautiful. Jesper seems to have been trained to be attentive to people, as he listens very carefully when spoken to.
