Our sweet and very handsome Jeremy comes all the way from Turkey to find his forever family. Jeremy is an once in a lifetime pup, and he was one of the last dogs that came over to the US before the government of Turkey just recently announced horrible legislation that all stray dogs will be collected and killed.
Jeremy was found by our Turkish rescue partner one night while they were feeding strays who had wandered into a local cemetery to take some rest for the night. Jeremy's back leg was severely injured and he was unable to walk, so they took him in and the vets determined the only way for Jeremy to lead a normal life was to amputate.
Today, Jeremy is a tripawd who gets around just perfectly - this missing back leg doesn't stop Jeremy from enjoying life. He is as adorable as they come. Jeremy is loving life with his foster family, and showing how good he is on leash walks and chilling on the couch. He loves to be petted, and he sits for treats, settling into life in the US like a pro.
Don't let the tripawd life fool you, Jeremy can run around and have fun like the best of them. He is great with other dogs and loves to play and run in his foster family's backyard. He is also non-reactive with the resident cats. Jeremy can live in either a single dog family or with another dog. He is a gentle and loving boy, and oh, how daringly handsome he is! A true head-turner.
Given Jeremy's exceptional nature, we are seeking an equally special person or family to provide him with a loving home. He is just over one year old, and has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
To adopt, or foster-to-adopt, Jeremy, please submit an application on www.gwarp.org and follow up by texting Alison at 267-639-0894. Do not submit applications on Petfinder.
Jeremy's adoption fee is $595 to help offset his expensive flight costs.
