My Story

Jenna is a beautiful purebred Bernese Mt Dog who we rescued from an Amish puppy mill ("breeder") here in Ohio. Jenna is an extremely sweet and gentle girl, just a little timid of strangers at first. She was rescued in June along w/ several of her 3 mo old puppies and her 1 yr old daughter, who have since found their forever homes. She was born 4/6/03. *** Jenna is in a loving foster home outside Akron now, working on socializing, gaining weight and getting healthy (she had intestinal parasites and untreated ear infections.) ~~~~ A complete vet workup including bloodwork and urine showed no other problems. She will be spayed and have a dental soon. Then will be available for adoption. ~~~~ She actively seeks out affection from her foster mom, who recently had this to say about Jenna, "She's begun to play a bit, will run circles around me out in the yard etc. And she's tried to pick up a couple of the other dogs' toys in the yard. She definately is curious and checks things out. She is also learning to walk on lead. She has pretty much learned to go outside and not in the house or kennel. I think she really is smart. She has picked up lots of things just because of our routines. She would enjoy being with other dogs for sure. " ~~~~~ Jenna is looking for a quiet home with a kind, gentle, patient owner. She possibly has been abused in the past, she deserves nothing but kindness now. She is a bit shy, but warms up w/ quiet patience ....... Jenna will be a loving, wonderful companion for some lucky person. She is not at all aggressive to people or dogs, even when frightened. She just needs love!! *** We will not adopt her to a home w/ children. *** We always require a securely fenced yard for all dog adoptions, of course, and never those shock collar "invisible fencing systems."
