My Story

Jelly Bean is quite the mix of breeds, we are not sure what his heritage is, but we DO KNOW he is a terrific dog! He's handsome, affectionate and has the softest brown eyes - one of them has a blue fleck in the corner! He's striking and about a year old. Jelly Bean is currently in foster care and doing very well. He is about 40 to 45 pounds of unconditional love. He was originally found as a stray and then adopted to a home. They did not want to keep him - said he had submissive urination issues. While he does have this issue, it is not near as bad as was stated. Many young dogs do offer submissive urination to appease certain situations or when they are overly excited. The original home had him on PROZAC, but we have weaned him OFF that drug and he is doing MUCH BETTER without it! Sometimes at the park he gets over-stimulated and nervous and will bark at the other dogs he is unfamiliar with. His foster mom has been working on this and improvements have been made. His name is Jelly Bean because he can jump and fly through the air when he plays with such abandon. He has had some obedience training and knows many commands. He has fantastic recall skills and can be let off-leash on walks at the local park if there are not very many dogs there, otherwise, he is best walked on leash in a less stimulating environment. Jelly Bean is not destructive when left alone and does not need to be crated however he is crate trained also. He has not shown any food or toy aggression with the other dogs in foster care and actually could use a bit of confidence building. He could easily fit into a household with another dog that is tolerant and confident. He enjoys cuddles and kisses and loves to snuggle.
