Hi, I'm Jax! I'm a sweet, curious and funny little guy who weighs just 10 lbs. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a little time and I'll warm right up. I love to play, especially with my toys and tug o war is my favorite game! I'm also great with other dogs, so if you have a furry friend at home, we could become best buddies. The leash? Well, it's a bit scary for me, but with a patient and loving friend, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. I'm eager to explore, to learn, and to love. I'm house & potty pad trained and I sleep well in my kennel but I love to cuddle too! I promise to make you laugh with my playful antics and to be your loyal companion. I was found roaming the streets in Southeast Louisiana and although I'm only 1-2 years old, sadly I have been neglected and did not receive the proper vet care and tested positive for heartworm disease so I will need to undergo treatment which will be covered by the rescue. I am now UTD on my vaccinations and neutered so I'm ready to start my new life in a home of my own! So, why should you adopt me? Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
