My Story

Jake is a very special boy for someone who truly wants to rescue a dog. He has had a long journey from a Texas high kill shelter to CT. This boy's little soul is perfect but he was born with a hip defect (NOT hip dyplasia) that makes him physically imperfect. Jake's normal hip joints and normal femurs do not sit together. Jake is in no pain and can live a normal life as nature has splendidly anchored everything in place with muscles. Take a look at the video of this bouncing boy. He loves playing with other dogs, chasing balls and can go up and down steps. It just takes this boy a little longer to get up from a sitting position. Jake has also been fostered in a home with cats and pretty much leaves them alone unless they run. This is a typical reaction for most dogs. Jake would love a quieter home with somebody around most of the time. He also would enjoy the company of another playful dog. Jake is a little cautious in new situations until he knows he won't be hurt. When Jake arrived in Ct we also found out that he was heartworm positive which has now been treated and shouldn't cause him any more problems. He is neutered, microchipped, shots up to date, and ready for his forever home. We are asking for an adoption fee of $350 which will not come close to covering his vet expenses and the $150 transport fee we had to pay to bring him to CT. Please contact us for a pre-adoption questionnaire if you are interested in adopting Jake. There is no obligation.
