6/12/10: Hi! I'm Jake! I can't stop too long (got things to do and stuff to get into), but Mom said I needed to tell folks a little about myself. I'm a 5-month-old Great Dane puppy who loves every single person and dog I've met. I'm very outgoing and I can pretend that I'm a big, bad guard dog...for a few seconds anyway. (It's not a job I want fulltime - takes too much energy) I like to let my family know when there's something new around, whether it's people, dogs, cats, birds, flapping tarps...just about anything. I calm down, though, once they tell me that it's OK. I am in a foster home with some big brothers and sisters and I LOVE to play with them, especially when they really get rowdy...hehehe. When one gets tired, there's always another. I am crate-trained and I am learning some new words and what to do when I hear them. If I do the right thing, Mom gives me a treat...I like treats! I know "sit", "down", "in", "stay" (don't like that one), and "take it". I also like to play with the cats, but they don't always want to play. If I nudge one of them with my nose, and he doesn't run, I go find something else to play with. I'm still learning about "going" outside - sometimes I forget, but Mom is trying really hard to make sure that I learn before I go to my permanent home. I am a very active youngster who needs a firm but gentle hand to make sure that I grow up to be a well-behaved GREAT Dane. I'm growing fast and whoever wants me needs to know that I intend to be the BIG guy on the block...size-wise! I'm just about ready to go, so if you think you can love me as much as I can love you, please give me a chance.

We require a fenced yard (exceptions made on a case by case basis - NO exceptions for puppies or deaf/vision impaired dogs), that all other animals in the home be up to date on vaccinations as well as spayed/neutered and that all dogs live inside as a part of the family.
