My Story

**$50** Jake is ready for adoption and needs a home. He is an 8 year old blue Heeler(mix) and is 66lbs. His owner sadly passed away. Jake only knew being with his owner and around the yard keeper. So he was completely confused the first few months while his life had been flipped upside down. He was left in the yard there, then stayed I the yard at fosters home, but is now also inside. He was said to be house trained, but some times he wants to make in the foster home. This could change with the correct home or he could where a belly band. We want an INDOOR home for Jake because that is what he is use to. He does well with a 4ft fence and his foster home wpuld prefer a fenced in yard in his future home. Jake loves car rides and going to McDonalds. He has done well meeting and being with female dogs and small dogs. He is not fond of the big male dog in home, but that dog challenged him. He would most likely be fine if the other dog was not confrontational. He is possessive of his food bowl from dogs and humans, so he needs fed alone. He has just given the growl warning, no one has pushed him to see what he will do nor do we need to. We will not put him in home with children who aren't old enough to fully understand leaving his food alone. Sadly Jake has Seizures, which are controlled by a daily med. The meds can be picked up at any local pharmacy for $23 for a months supply. Jake didn't like taking his pills was spitting them out, resulting in a couple Seizures. His foster home has discovered that putting them crushed up in peanut butter has solved that issue. Jake is neutered and up to date on vet care. Don't let his age fool you either, I'm told he has plenty of engery when he gets excited. This poor dog has been through enough. Please help find him his forever home. He is in foster with Cats. But he will chase them if they run. He may be best without cats. Higginsville Mo $50 Please fill out an application on our website fofanimalrescue.org Then email to [email protected]
