Jack-adopted

Jack is a 5 yr old Jack Russell Terrier who is looking for a new forever home. His family is moving and can't take him or his buddy, Summer, with them to their new home. Jack is great with small children, and would make a great addition for some lucky family. We require a fenced yard if there are kids under the age of 12 in the home.

Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.

We check references and always do a home visit. We now have a transport available that travels from TN, through VA, and on to the New England states that dogs can hitch a ride on for a reasonable fee. See
