Jack is a former puppymill dog that is enjoying life on the outside. He is only about 4 lbs. and we think he is approximately 5 to 7 yrs. old but there is no way to know for sure. Jack requires a very special home. He needs either just a "mommy" or a mommy and a patient daddy that will understand his fear of men and work with him on this. He takes time to warm up to new people so someone that is committed to socializing him and being patient is needed. If you are looking for a Paris Hilton Chihuahua- he is NOT the dog for you. Jack is great with other small dogs- and seems to find security with his own kind. Once he is comfortable that you won't hurt him, he will follow you to the ends of the earth and wants to be with you at all times. He loves to be carried around and to snuggle on the couch. Jack would do the very best in all adults home with a gentle, patient mommy to love him and another small dog or two to pal around and cuddle with. Jack is fully vetted and is reliably potty pad trained but is not housetrained- we are working on this but he is a typical Chihuahua and doesn't want to go out in the cold. A securely fenced yard is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED, not only so that he can continue to work on his housebreaking but to keep him safe. Jack's adopter MUST have small dog experience and an excellent vet reference. In addition, a home visit will be done prior to adoption.
