My Story

Ivy is a young puppy with a tough start but still has plenty of love to give! Pep Pals Rescue saved her mother, Dixie, and her pups from San Antonio Animal Care Services, one of the highest kill shelters in the US. Dixie was an owner surrender with a 10-month-old puppy. The shelter gave them just three days before they would be euthanized, but Dixie gave birth to 14 puppies, which saved her life for another three days. The 10-month-old puppy was euthanized the same day due to lack of space. When Pep Pals Rescue stepped in, the entire litter and Dixie were hours away from being put to sleep. Despite all of this, Ivy is affectionate, curious, athletic, friendly, and fun, and she has lots of cuddles to give! She's very playful and intelligent! If you're looking for a cute, affectionate, and loyal companion, Ivy is the one for you! DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***IVY IS FOSTERED IN MARYLAND, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). Our adoption fee is $500 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older (if under 6 months, $100 of adoption fee is returned to adopter when proof of mandatory spay/neuter is provided to us at 6 months of age), and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.
