Ivory

This is Ivory and she is barely 2 years old. A little over a year ago this sweet little girl was a stray dog. Which means as a baby, when she should have been learning her house skills and living with a family who loved her, she was on the streets. Always running and always hungry. And always scared. When she was brought to the shelter in OKC, things didn't get better. You see, Oklahoma was just starting to realize that a nasty case of strep zoo was sweeping the state. Local shelters were closing their doors to treat and try to contain the outbreak. Ivory would have been stuck in the shelter, if it wasn't for Ana. H3's intake was closed (we had just lost 4 huskies to this illness and were doing everything we could to save the others). How could we pull dogs just to expose them to this disease? But like most things in rescue, things didn't go as planned. See, the OKC shelter reached out to us about Ana, a 7-year-old who was microchipped, but her owners were not responding. Could we help? Take her in until her owners could be found? She had a higher chance of survival with us, so, Jenni went to save Ana. And came back with a bonus husky, Ivory. This girl with the bluest eyes is a survivor. She survived the streets, and she survived the strep zoo outbreak. But life isn't just about surviving, is it? It's time for her to have her own life, full of people who love her and all of her huskiness. Ivory is an escape artist, she can squeeze, dig and climb her way out of everything. She has a ton of energy, so she needs an active family who keeps her inside with them but who go out on adventures often. If other dogs are in the home, that would be fantastic for her, she loves to run and play with just about everyone. And don't let her small frame fool you, she is full of bossy huskitude!
