Meet Iris! Iris is a sweet female Husky mix approximately 1 year old. Currently, she is a little over 40 lbs with a petite frame. While Iris is still young, she has done a great job with potty training, and learning her manners. She has become a loving and loyal member of our family.
Iris loves people, kids, other dogs, and cuddles. She also enjoys going on walks, runs, and playing fetch or tug-a-war. Her dog chews are one of her favorite things, but she is willing to share with others in the house. Iris likes to be outside and is extremely content running around and playing in our yard. Her favorite spot to rest is on our deck in the sun or wading in the baby pool.
Iris is smart, alert and quiet. She has not been a barker even though our other dogs love to bark at others walking down the street. Iris is crate trained and will seek her crate for rests and bedtime. She is learning to ring a bell to ask to go outside and has learned new words and commands, like, “no,” “sit,” “potty,” “down,” “treat,” “outside,” and “walk.” She does an awesome job on the leash, is eager to please and very motivated by treats and positive reinforcement.
We’ll miss her dearly but Iris is ready to find her forever home.

Once we review the applications, those applicants who are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possible. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed. The best way to contact us is by email at
[email protected]. It is very difficult for the limited numbers of volunteers to return all calls. Thank you.
