Irene

Irene was picked up trembling on the road in the middle of the night. She is at least 10 years old, if not older, and unfortunately was diagnosed with a grade 3-4 heart murmur at the time of her vet examination. We are seeking placement for her of the medical/hospice adoption type. Her future adopters should understand that we do not have a definitive idea of her prognosis--both the speed at which the heart disease will progress as well as her projected lifespan--and that she will require twice-daily medication for the rest of her life as well as more frequent vet checkups. Irene is a total velcro dog; she gets so upset the moment that staff put her down to continue with their other duties. We think that she would do best in a slower paced household that can accommodate her needs for lots of attention and a calm environment.
