My Story

Hi, my name’s Indiana Jones! All my friends call me Indie but I'm posing as “Lady Indie Bug” in these photos. Life sure has changed since I made it into foster, I even get to wear pretty coats!!! A very nice Animal Control Officer rescued me from an abusive owner who kept me chained my entire life ~ my collar was embedded in my neck because my previous owner never bothered to loosen it as I grew up! I was scheduled to be euthanized but my vibrant personality and sweet demeanor convinced the shelter that I deserved a chance at a real life. The shelter saw how nice I am to other dogs, so they fattened me up and sent me to a wonderful indoor foster home where I’ve made lots of canine friends! I’ve learned that humans can be super nice too and that I can trust them. I love to play with toys in the yard or lay around chewing on my bone, it’s great to run around the yard or take a nap in the sun or shade ~ whatever I choose. I even get to come inside because I’m crate and house and mind my manners! The food’s sure good too, I’ve put on weight so my ribs don’t show anymore and everyone says my coat is looking sooooo pretty and the scar around my neck is all healed up and completely gone! My foster Mom says I’m her “sweetie pie” because I’m soooooooo happy (24/7), greeting all comers with HUGE smiles! She probably doesn’t realize how much better my life is now ~ how could I possibly be anything but a happy little "darling" when people are soooooo nice and everyone is my friend! I’m just grateful to be loved and free of that heavy chain; it’s easy to be a good girl when all the people you meet are so kind! My dream is to find a fun filled forever home with my own special person(s) who’ll enjoy all the love I have to offer in return!

Special Note:
Indie is considered a special needs adoption to ensure that she is adopted into a home where she can ~ and will ~ enjoy an active lifestyle with her new family. The consummate athlete, this vivacious wee tyke should be run, hiked, biked (etc) routinely to provide the perfect outlet for her natural energy : )
