My Story

Hutch is a senior, 8 year old, Chihuahua mix (basically a Chihuahua on stilts) who was originally transferred from the SFSPCA with his brother Rickie. They were overwhelmed by the noise and activity of the city and needed a quiet place to decompress and process all the changes in their life. Hutch is a shy, funny and quirky dog who loves treats and curling up in a warm and comfy bed. He would do best in a quiet predictable home with a yard where he can sunbathe. He frequently stays in the sanctuary manager's office during the day and is happy to nap away the day on a couch or in an ex pen with other small dogs. If you are looking for a small dog with low exercise needs and a cat-like personality, Hutch may be your guy! We would like to find Rickie and Hutch a home together as they have spent most of their life with each other. They are easy keepers and don't need a lot to stay happy. All of our animals are up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have had a physical exam. At adoption we provide: veterinary records and vaccine certificates, castration certificate, lifetime lost animal support, one month’s worth of flea medication and heartworm medication, one week’s worth of food, a leash, a collar, an ID tag, and a familiar toy or blanket to help them settle in. We also provide lifetime basic positive training support.
