My Story

Hurley has found her home!

Hurley was being fostered in Smithers, BC through Turtle Gardens. Unfortunately Hurley has now lost her foster home due to unforseen circumstances and no fault of hers. Her previous foster home had nothing but great things to say about her and we are hoping you will read on to find out more.
Hurley will be heading to Vancouver soon and is desperate to find somewhere to live here. Having her in a larger city will make it easier for more people to meet her, and once you meet her, you will love her. Please read on to find out more about Hurley and to HELP her if you can.

April Update: Hurley has been in a fantastic foster home where she has been obedience trained to be the best ambassador for her breed.
Here is an UPDATE from her Foster Dad - Feb 21/06:

Absolute Perfection! Thats how to describe this sweety. She is well trained and very well manered. She would be a great starter dog for anyone interested in her, she is a perfect ambassador of the breed. Hurley is good inside, outside, on a leash, in a kennel and pretty much with everything she does. She has the spirit of a puppy and the brains of an adult, with the desire to learn. Whoever get this girl will be very lucky.

Upon Arrival:
Hurley is a black Pitbull/Sharpei female who is 22 months and who's pictures do not do her justice. She is a gorgeous girl but it is hard to tell in these photos, trust us and meet her to see for yourself!

Hurley was a stray wandering the streets of a northern community with her two pups in tow. She is suffering from a mild form of demodex mange with no secondary skin infection - luckily for her she was treated early so did not suffer much hair loss or any infection - SHE IS NOW CURED. Hurley is a sweet dog and is looking for someone to follow around and lay on their feet. She is super people friendly she LOVES kids. She is very dog social and is very gentle with the smallest dogs that live here. She is so eager to please that she has totally mastered potty 101 - she is housebroken! She travels well in a vehicle, has wonderful in-house manners although she is constantly underfoot. Outside she is never more than 3 feet away she is very tuned in to people! Hurley will be a fantastic companion to a committed family. If you like your friend to always be nearby than Hurley is the one for you.

If you think you can help Hurley please contact Turtle Gardens Animal Rehabilitation Society Topley, BC (250) 696-3188 [email protected] or [email protected] who will be her contact in Vancouver.

Pets can be flown to new homes. Application and homecheck required for all homes, the dog will go to the best home to for the dog. Please contact Turtle Gardens for more information or to fill out an on-line application at (250) 696-3188 or [email protected].
