My Story

Donate to the PALS Doggy Digs Fund!
The Poweshiek Animal League Shelter is raising funds for a dog housing expansion at the shelter. Money raised will enable construction of a 30 by 50 foot addition, which will house PALS dogs. It will include new indoor and outdoor kennels, and will give dogs freedom to come in and out of the building, all while staying safely contained.
Not only will this greatly benefit the dogs, but it will also benefit the cats, as the cat room will be moved to the current dog room, giving much more space for playtime. The cat room will be converted into a much needed isolation room.
Simply PayPal to [email protected] or mail your check to PALS, PO Box 123, Grinnell, IA 50112 - note that your donation is for the Doggy Digs Fund!
THANK YOU!!

Hunter has now been at the shelter for a very very long time - we just don't understand why he hasn't had the opportunity to go home yet! He is a good boy, sweet and friendly, SO soft, and doing wonderfully with keeping his kennel clean. Please consider giving Hunter some extra-special consideration:

Meet Hunter, an adorable and friendly and happy beagle/terrier mix! He is looking for a home with PALS because at his previous farm home, his favorite pass-time was traffic control...standing out in the middle of the road barking his cute head off at any car that came by, bringing them to a complete stand-still so as not to hit his little fool self. :) Oh, he also likes to take on cows. You gotta love him! And, we can only laugh about it because thankfully passing cars DID see him and the little guy didn't get hurt.

So Hunter is looking for a home with a nice fenced yard and/or where he'll always be on a leash for walks. Hunter is 5 years old now and just about 20-25 pounds. He loves everybody he meets and is just an awesome little guy. He has that adorable perpetual-puppy look, and his short hairs are super-soft. Please call or e-mail PALS to give him his furever home!

Hunter's adoption donation is $95 which includes his neuter, microchipping, deworming, and shots. Please call or e-mail the PALS contact information located below to find out more about making this sweetheart a part of your family!

Please be patient with us - we're taking care of a lot of furkids - our own and the PALS kids - and we are all volunteers with families, homes and full time jobs. We'll return email and phone inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. Thanks!

ADOPTIONS: We don't let the fact that you might live out of state stop any adoption that's meant to be, but you MUST be willing to drive, or fly, all the way to pick up your new family member.

ADOPTION DONATIONS: Adoption donations for PALS animals go directly either to medical care for those or other furkids in need, or towards maintenance, supplies, and improvement of the newly-built shelter!
