Humphrey

Look at that face! Humphrey is a 2-year-old purebred Basset Hound with a ton of energy and personality. He is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet. He was an owner surrender when they split up and neither one had time for him anymore. Very sad but he’s no worse for the wear. He weighs about 50#.

Humphrey just wiggles his whole body and hops with the little, stubby legs. You cannot help but smile whenever he is around! He enjoys the company of people, other dogs, and cats. He just wants to play and be loved by everyone.

Humphrey is housetrained and crate trained, so will be easy to fit into a new environment with ease. He enjoys playing fetch and going for walks. We use a Gentle Leader on him for walking since he pulls quite a bit. The only command he knows so far is SIT. He is just much too distracted to learn anything else—typical of any hound dog. Patience is a virtue when trying to train a hound!

He enjoys belly rubs, stuffed toys, chewing on rawhides and getting his ears cleaned. He is just very sweet and deserves a family that will love him forever. He’s moved around enough.

This dog's adoption fee is $300 (plus tax). This includes being spayed/neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, wormed, microchipped with the HomeAgain microchip, heartworm tested (negative) and medicated during the heartworm season (May-Dec) while in our care, comes with a Gentle Leader headcollar (if we feel it is needed), and is currently learning Basic Obedience commands and good doggie manners.
