Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue! We are one-and-only English Bulldog rescue in the state of Illinois recognized by the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network! What that means for adopters and surrending families and shelters is that our bullies get the highest level of care and commitment. They spend their time with us in foster homes where they get daily love and attention. No cages, no institutions.
We are an Illinois licensed shelter and a 501c3 charitable organization. The care we provide our English bulldogs, including a high quality diet, the best veterinary care from a bulldog specialist, and behavioral evaluations, exceeds any rescue organization around. Your contributions to help care for our bullies would be so appreciated as each rescue typically costs us more in care than the adoption fees we collect.

Hi! My name is House. I am a super-friendly, high-energy English Bulldog. I was once very loved by my family but due to financial hardship, they were not able to afford a surgery that I desperately needed. Even though I am only a 1.5 year old guy, I had a great big tumor growing out of my mouth. So big that it got in the way of me eating and chewing on bones and toys, like us dogs love to do. That’s when Chicago English Bulldog Rescue stepped in to help! The very first day that they took me in I had surgery on my mouth. It was pretty scary to be in a strange place after my surgery but I am adjusting! I can only eat soft food right now because of my stitches, but I take the food really nicely by hand. I am getting spoiled! I can’t wait to eat my food each morning and evening! I am so happy to have the growth gone, I’m having fun and playing again. Unfortunately, the tumor was malignant so there is a chance it may come back. That will mean another surgery for me, but I’m a tough guy and am ready for these kinds of challenges!
My foster house is in the city and I am getting used to all the noises in my neighborhood. I am learning how to go for walks and explore and I’m pretty nice on leash. I have come a long way in the last couple weeks with my potty training. I really never understood before that there was a time and place to do this business, but now I totally get it! Also, I love to sprint back to the house after I go!
My foster mom says that I am the biggest goofball! I love to jump around and let loose like pups my age do, so I will need some consistency in my forever home to have some patience with me at first. I’m really adorable, so even though it’s hard, you will have to be firm with me!
I love to play with other dogs and I get along great with kids. Even my foster bully brother doesn’t like other dogs, but he loves me! I’m pretty irresistible. I know how to play nice. I love to play fetch with a tennis ball—I think I was a retriever in a past life. I have also lived with kids before. Although I am working on it, I like to jump sometimes so I might be a little energetic for tiny ones. I love to snuggle up next to my human friends on the couch or on their laps. I’m a pretty big guy, but I think I’m a lap dog. I also give great kisses! I love to dance around when I am getting attention!
I’m a really smart guy who listens well and is just a lover to all. I can’t wait to go to my forever home where I can get settled in and see the world from a new, healthy perspective!
Love,
House
