Honey is a lab mix that is under two years of age and weighs only 30lbs!
Are you looking for that little something sweet to satisfy your sweet tooth? Then look no further. Have we got the perfect Bit o' Honey for you! This girl is everything you need to fill that sweet spot! Honey is crate and house trained and is good with dogs and cats (though a little afraid of cats)!
This sweet girl was sitting in a rural Louisiana shelter when our partner rescue was asked to help her. She was a nervous girl. We couldn't get her to walk anywhere. She would just pancake to the ground or army crawl everywhere. That was 8 months ago. Today, Honey is a happy, joyful, slightly timid dog! She LOVES treats which will make training easy in her new home. She loves the coziness of her kennel and goes there when she feels nervous (during thunderstorms, fireworks) or when she's just needs her own space. Her kennel is covered on top and 3 sides with a blanket. She enjoys the comfort of the den-like environment. She eats her meals in her kennel, takes naps, and sleeps overnight in her kennel without a peep.
She lives with dogs big and small and does wonderful!
She does like her toys and bones too much to want to share so she enjoys those in her kennel away from her foster friends, as these are new to her, and she does not want to share.
Older children would be best for her, since she is on the shy side. She would do well as the only dog with continued socialization or with other dogs.
She'd do well in a family with another dog, but she tends to quickly choose her "person". Her family would need to set boundaries for her. She is a girl that takes redirection very well and easily.
She tends to be growly and does this randomly or when she feels intimidated by dogs, Her foster family redirects her and this does the trick. This works well for her. She is very loving and goes to doggy daycare. She has lots of friends there both canine and human! She only receives A+ report cards!
