HONEY IS BEING FOSTERED IN MONTANA. APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED NATIONWIDE.
Honey is one of the Operation New Beginnings dogs and ready for a new home. Please visit our website to read more about this coordinated rescue effort in Montana and the special needs of these deserving dogs.
Honey needs a special home. Honey has made awesome progress in her foster home, except for one area ~ her foster mom is still the only one that can pet and love on her. Honey gets along fabulously with the resident golden retriever.
Honey has adapted very well and learns quickly. She is rock steady on the lead walking along busy streets during rush hour going with or against traffic, by herself and/or with the resident dog. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car. She loads up well in the car and waits when the tailgate is opened. She is house trained, and has graduated from the dog crate at night to sleeping on her foster mom's bed. She is a real cuddle bug.
She is a happy dog most of the time, but still can be stressed when any new person comes to the house or stops us on our walks. When that happens, Honey backs off and would love to be anywhere but near the new person. She loves to herd the cat, and they are even nose touching buddies! Honey is very good at taking voice commands rather than physical correction. Honey will do well with a person that uses a patient, calm approach and is willing to put the time in to earn her trust.
Honey recently suffered a seizure, and is now on daily seizure medication. She has been good about taking her medication.
Honey's potential is tremendous …she just needs a very special person to unlock the gate.
