Hershey - Adopted

Arrival story: Hershey was picked up from a vacant home by a rural shelter. The former owners had been evicted and were living in a hotel. As it turns out, they were going back and feeding Hershey daily but weren’t allowed to take him to the hotel. The family surrendered Hershey after realizing they could no longer care for him.

Approximate age / weight: Hershey is approximately 2 years old and 55 lbs.

Personality: Hershey is a beautiful Husky mix with striking facial markings. He is very affectionate and loves attention. Hershey is housebroken. He doesn’t seem to mind cats and gets along well with other dogs. Hershey had a wound on his elbow which has healed very nicely.

Forever home: Hershey will need a fenced-in yard since he likes to chase squirrels and birds. He's like a big puppy, so he'll need daily exercise, patience as he continues to learn new commands and lots of love!.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
