My Story

Henry is a 7-8 year old Black and Tan Coonhound waiting in south central Wisconsin after being found stray. Slightly underweight at 45 pounds, Henry is an affectionate, friendly, happy-go-lucky guy and is a smart little cookie, catching on quickly to the house rules; he does not jump on people, he will come find his human when he needs to go outside, and he is trustworthy with free run of the house in his foster home. Henry is good with other dogs and children, rides nicely in the car, and is a pretty soft-spoken guy. He has learned how enjoyable leash walks are, and walks are now one of his favorite times of the day, second only to mealtime. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly, especially when treats are involved. Henry would love a home with another playful dog but could also be a solo-dog in a household where he gets ample exercise, attention and socialization; he would not enjoy long days being left home alone.
