My Story

Henry is a 3 yr old purebred Bernese Mtn Dog. He was surrendered to us by his former owner who didnt have the energy or ability to handle him. ~~ Heinz is a wonderfully high energy young boy!! He would make a great agility dog, or companion for an individual/couple with an active lifestyle. Heinz is no couch potato! He has plenty of spirit and drive, and a great sense of humor as well! ~~ His "issue" is that he has been allowed to kinda "run wild" and become a bit of a spoiled brat. ~~ He is housetrained and he "plays well with others" .... dogs, cats, kids. He is currently working on learning some self control .....for a change! He is doing well learning to not pull on leash, to come when called, to sit and down on cue, to stop jumping on people w/ all 90 lbs of his very enthusiastic tri colored self. ~~ However, when limits are put on his behavior (ex: get off the kitchen counter, get outta the cat litterbox) Henry has found it successful in the past to snarl or snap and frighten his previous inexperienced owner, so we are working on helping him find better ways to deal with his frustration. Naturally, he will need on owner committed to ongoing training and management for this undesireable behavior. ~~ We are looking for an experienced adult only home to love this fantastic, fun loving boy. ~~ NOTE: We require a securely fenced yard for all dog adoptions, and never the shock collar "invisible fencing systems."
