My Story

Hector has found his new forever home with Garry D and Elizabeth W. in Newburyport, MA

UPDATE 12/30: Hector got adopted three weeks ago to a family in NH and they are returning him because he is having some house accidents. He is a dog who spent most of his life outdoors in the south, but in his southern foster home was housetrained and using a doggie door. We think he is still a bit confused with transitioning, and the family apparently has a lot of rugs in the house. It's possible the housetraining difficulty is because his scent has gotten into the rugs. We think he will housetrain up again in the right situation---preferably with a fenced yard, folks home enough to let him out frequently, with use of a crate, and some rug-free rooms where accidents would be easy to clean up. He is a wonderful, gentle boy. He is currently being fostered by his adoptive family in Pelham, NH. Please apply for him now!

Splendid Hector is a 2 year old Great Pyr boy who weighs 95 lbs. He loves to playing with other dogs and toys. He also loves walks. Does well with children. He is very gentle and loves to play with all sizes of animals. He is a gentle giant- who thinks he is a lap dog. He absolutely loves going for car rides and will sit in the back and enjoy the scenery. Adoption fee: $350

Please complete an online APPLICATION if you wish to adopt. Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC SHELTER LOCATION. If you wish to meet our dogs, you must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.

Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Also, any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the south and will prefer to "do their business" outdoors.
