Meet Hazel
My name is Hazel and when I got to Foster Mom’s there was another dog named Hazel and at first she thought about calling me Hazel Number 2 but no one wants to be named after number two, speaking of number two, I am potty and crate trained.
So instead of calling me just Hazel or Hazel 2, she started calling me Hazelnut, as that came about more organically since I am silly and funny and adorable especially when I’m carrying one of my toys in my mouth or playing with my buddy Loki. Similar to the hazelnut candy though, I do have a crunchy layer and a smooth filling. You’ll have to get through the crunchy part to see my good parts. I was terrified of people when I first got here and I’m still not good at making human friends immediate. I have to see and sniff you a few times.
Foster Mom has a friend that comes over often and I’m cool with her. But Mister Photographer man who I only met once, well I wasn’t that into him although I do appreciate him taking my photos….I guess!
I do walk pretty good on a leash. I LOVE treats and toys. And I also love another dog here named Loki, I get along with all the dogs here, but he’s my bestie, thick as thieves as they say, me and Loki. Once I get used to my person, I’m a great loyal GENTLE and SWEET family dog! I’ll need a home that is familiar with loyal protective dogs and one that doesn’t have lots of strangers coming and going.
Since I do have a hard candy shell before you get to the smoosh part. Foster Mom hopes any potential adopters can come sit with me and walk me a few times before taking me home, so I don’t have to leave this joint with a stranger which would be confusing for me.
Bring food! The way to most dog hearts is their stomach, although I’m pretty sure that’s not anatomically correct!! It does work. I don’t know why?? I love treats!
