HARDY is a 3 year old mixed breed taken in as an injured, lost dog on 7/3/24. He was hit by a car which dislocated his left elbow and left lacerations on his face and his left front leg. He was taken to the vet, had x-rays done, was sedated and his injury was reduced. Hardy's abrasions have healed and his leg is doing great. In fact, Hardy's a strong walker who will pull, but he's very responsive. He's been the best guy the entire time he's been with us. Hardy's friendly, very sweet and is calm in his kennel. Fantastic for photos, he knows sit on command and takes treats gently. Hardy is also super house broken. He's a really good boy! Hardy's adoption fee is $150 and helps cover the cost of his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm and flea preventive and care while at CCHS.
Hardy was already microchipped, but the phone number associated with the chip was not taking messages and text messages were also unresponsive. Hardy was not neutered, which could be a factor in his running loose. Unaltered (not neutered) male dogs can smell a female in heat from 5 miles away. PLEASE keep your information updated with your pet's microchip company and on their tags. And PLEASE get them spayed or neutered - it greatly minimizes the likelihood that they will roam or run off.
Hardy's adoption fee barely covers the basic medical care that we provide to every animal that we take in. Those fees do not cover anything else, like his second dose of monthly heart worm and flea preventive. And his adoption fee does NOT cover any of the veterinary care for treating his dislocated elbow. If you are able and would like to donate toward Hardy's additional medical care, we would greatly appreciate. You may make a donation by clicking on the donate button at the top of our FB page. And thank you.
