My Story

**Meet Gypsy: The Sweet, Sensitive Soul** Two-year-old Gypsy is a loving, sensitive girl who deserves the best forever home with people who will love her unconditionally. What sets Gypsy apart is her sweet, endearing nature and her special ability to make everyone feel loved. She is extremely affectionate and enjoys giving kisses, hugs, and cuddles. **Affectionate and Playful** Gypsy adores company and loves to cuddle with any person, dog, or cat she’s comfortable with. She is extremely food motivated, enjoys playing with toys (especially balls), and loves burrowing under blankets for naps—yes, she snores! She even loves playing in the water! Her activity level is moderate to high, and she still acts and plays like a puppy. She sometimes jumps when excited, walks well on a leash, and rides well in the car. Gypsy knows commands like “sit,” “shake,” “lay down,” “stay,” and “up” (for when she’s invited onto furniture). **Training and Behavior** Gypsy is in the process of house training and is crate trained, sleeping in her kennel in the living room at night. She isn’t destructive inside or outside and is a barker, but obediently stops when asked or rewarded. She lets her people trim her nails with no issues! Due to her quick overheating, she wouldn’t be the ideal hiking partner, especially in hot weather. **Fear and Sensitivity** Gypsy is fearful of loud noises, yelling, aggression, and strangers, particularly strange men (though she warms up quickly with treats). Therefore, she cannot live in a city, a very hectic household, or with kids under 12 (she hasn’t been tested with younger children & she jumps out of excitement at times). **Quirks and Ongoing Training** Some of Gypsy’s quirks include barking when she’s scared or hears a noise, and being vocal in the dog park while playing. Her foster is working on these behaviors, and while Gypsy is extremely obedient and well-intentioned, she is still learning. **Ideal Home** Gypsy would ideally have another dog and/or cat in the home, but she can also thrive as the only pet with people who are around often. She would make a great work buddy and doesn’t necessarily need a fenced yard, though it could be beneficial. A home with kids 12+ is ideal, as Gypsy needs people around due to her lack of independence. It’s believed she might be allergic to chicken, so her diet should be monitored. Gypsy is ready to bring endless love and joy to a forever home where she can continue to blossom. If you have the time, love, and patience to give her the life she deserves, Gypsy could be the perfect addition to your family! DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***GYPSY IS FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE.
