My Story

Currently located in: TN. Adoptable in: All continental 48 United States (transport is available anywhere!) Good with dogs: Yes, as always, slow introductions when bringing a new dog into your pack. Good with cats: working on it! Good with kids: Yes! Crate trained: Yes! Please Note: We are quick (usually 3-5 days to be fully approved!) to respond to applications and complete the adoption approval process. Please only apply if you are ready to take home your new pet quickly. Meet Gus! This boy is a very athletic and playful young pup who is as sweet as he is funny. He's curious, affectionate, loyal, and he's a true lover of all things snuggly. He'll gladly take all the kisses you can give him while he lounges on the couch with his toys, but he's also eager to play and explore when the time comes. Though he may be a bit shy at first (stranger danger!- Gus was found very hungry and clearly mistreated by humans, he has come a long way!), he'll warm up quickly to show off his silly and friendly side. As a bonus, Gus is crate-trained and weighs just 30-35 pounds (he is full grown). He would make a wonderful companion for someone who can give him the attention, exercise, and love he deserves. Gus would really benefit from some obedience classes to boost his confidence in social settings. Gus LOVES other dogs, he does best in small groups of dogs- too many is overwhelming to him (no dog parks for this baby!) Gus is totally chill about horses! Cats are cool but super interesting so he will try to chase and play if they run! If you think you might be the right match for Gus, please don't hesitate to fill out an application. He's an adorable pup who's just waiting to find his forever home. Gus has had a ProHeart 12 injection which is a once a year slow release Heartworm prevention medication so he is covered on that for the next 11 months! If you think you are the right match for him, please apply to adopt here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScq8ShXPVGLfrGHlIYMk0plgI_PJxOEMdr8QItpQMXYCnluvg/viewform The adoption fee is $650. All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line. We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non-family personal references, a home video tour, and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Please feel free to send a video to our email or facebook upon submitting an application, this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview. You must be an approved adopter in order to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone’s time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose. Interested in fostering? We would love to have you join our family! Fill out the same application above- we have our fosters go through the same process as adopters! Questions? Please email [email protected] or message us on facebook! For more photos, or information on upcoming adoption events where you can meet them, please go to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/whiskersfund Thank you for helping to save lives!
