Four month old Gunner is an affectionate, fun and smart 42 pound puppy who’s about as cute as can be. This gentle, loving little guy found himself deposited at the shelter one day when his family realized they were not prepared to raise or meet the needs of a growing Lab puppy.
Gunner is doing well with his housetraining and adores people. He loves playing with other dogs, relishes a game of fetch and is a typical young Lab who likes to chew on bones and such. This youngster is happiest being your constant companion. Everything has the potential for fun and he’s a truly curious one! He’s very food motivated and learns quickly with the prospect of a treat as a reward.
Puppies, while adorable, are not for everyone. The proper handling and socialization of a puppy are critical to their development into a well adjusted adult. As Gunner grows he will require your steady, kind leadership, commitment to his training and rely on you for his extensive daily exercise needs.
If you would like Gunner, a “dog to be”, to consider your application, please tell us why your home and lifestyle would be suitable for a puppy in the comments section of your application.
Gunner will only be placed in a home with (1) adults or older children who can treat a dog with kindness and respect and (2) one that clearly has the dedication and substantial time throughout the day to devote to raising a puppy to responsible adulthood.
