My Story

Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento - Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto - PetSmart 4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. Adoption Fee: $350.00 Guinness is a 5 month old black and tan puppy who came from a local shelter. There is not much known about his history except that he had recently healed from a left femur fracture. He is an adorable pup who loves to snuggle on your lap when given the opportunity. He is working on house manners and potty training. With positive praise and treats he learns quickly. He is a playful boy who loves to bounce around with the resident dog and other fosters. Leash manners are a work in progress as we try not to overexert his legs but he does well with minimal correction. Since he is still a puppy, toys are extremely useful in correcting his mouthiness. He is good with cats and is curious about them with no prey drive just play instincts. He would do well in a household with another dog to continue learning house manners or a family that can keep him busy and focused. Cats and small critters unknown. Level 2 Understanding Dog Levels Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our home page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels. (https://www.gcgsr.org/dogs.html#levels) Additional Adoption Information For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state. Puppy Requirements We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy (https://www.gcgsr.org/puppies.html) email us at [email protected] for more information. Thank you for visiting!
