My Story

As of 11/7/03 - he is not yet neutered, so not yet available for adoption. In PA foster care. I have an almost 2 yr. old Irish Setter in great health. Guinness goes over 6ft fence, but is sensible & stays around. Unfortunately, I need to find a new home for him. I'm an FBI agent and am being assigned to a unit that will travel about two weeks per month. I also own a German Shepherd and a Black Lab. While I'm traveling, my wife can't handle three dogs and I can't afford to kennel them all the time. Last week's bill was over $500. We will keep the lab because he's been with us the longest and is the most settled. I have found a home for the shepherd. I am now looking to find a great home for Guinness, our setter. Guinness is tall and weighs about 70 pounds. He is current on all his shots. He has not been neutered. His breeder is a friend of ours, Mary Herrmann, of Stafford, VA., but she has had no luck finding anyone who isn't looking for a puppy. Guinness is sweet, but has LOTS of energy and needs a home where he gets plenty of exercise and attention. He still chews, so he needs to be monitored. Do you have any suggestions for me? An application, vet reference, home visit and a drive to PA a must to meet our dogs! To find out more about the Irish Setter breed, click here. To adopt, please submit an Adoption Application.
