My Story

Hi there! My name is Granny and I am a 8 year old Mini Pin...though I look older than my age. I haven't had it easy you see. I am in foster care in New England, I arrived on 10/22. Please check back for updates or send in an application

I used to live with a woman who did not bother to get any of her dogs (myself included) spayed or neutered. Because of this I, as well as many of my friends, had MANY puppies. Eventually she had far too many animals about, so she locked me in a cage. I am not sure how long I was in the cage, but it was a LONG time.

Still, I feel life is worth living. I have been rescued from that dismal existance, and I am ready for a new home. When the nice people who have taken me in had me spayed (no more puppies for ME, thank you very much!) the vet noticed I had a little cough. They were afraid I had Heart Worm...but I do not...thank goodness! I do have a heart problem though and I need to take my pills 2x a day. I take them with my food and it is no problem.

Though I am older and a bit worn...I still have some spunk in me. My favorite thing, however, is to just sit with a special somebody and get all the love I can soak up. I have 8 years worth to make up for, after all! I am house trained with the use of a doggy door, and I get along fine with other dogs.

So..if your looking for a nice quite older lady to share sunny afternoons in a big overstuffed chair, please look me up. I know we'd get along famously.

These animals are in dire need of homes. If you cannot provide a home, sponsors are welcome and needed for heartworm treatment and/or other medical expenses for dogs coming to New England. Foster families are also needed from time to time. Fostering a healthy dog or one that is in treatment will also save lives!

We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $250.00 for altered dogs. $350. for unaltered puppies, with $100 refundable after spay/neuter. All Senior dogs 6 years or older have a reduced adoption fee of $200. (includes vaccinations, spay/neuter and transport from AR) For more information, please visit our webpage at www.almosthomerescue.net
