Grace

Grace: what a special girl. No one could blame her for hating humans after what was done to her: acid was poured on her back and head and she was left to die. Unfortunatley, we too often see this inhumane torture performed on unlucky victims of the 'power' breeds: Pit Bull Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers. For Grace, and other dogs like her, to go through what she has and still be so sweet is amazing. Only a dog could be so forgiving. Grace is an active 5-year-old who loves to spend time with the other dogs on the ranch of all ages and sizes. She’s well behaved on a leash and enjoys going for walks. She LOVES to be petted. She’s also likes to relax and “hang out” – rolling over for tummy rubs and doing the back scratch wiggle on the lawn. She’s learning basic commands and responds very well… unless she sees a cat. She can’t stop staring and will give chase if she has the chance. So, no cats for Grace. She does equally well with men and women. She also is very good with children (as young as 8) petting her and giving her tummy rubs. She will bark if she senses a coyote in the area or if the other dogs are sounding the “stranger alert” but she quiets down quickly especially when asked to do so. She has adjusted extremely well to having one eye. Due to the extent of her injuries she will have some areas of fur that will remain missing on her head and back. Grace will be available for adoption as soon as she is spayed, sometime in July. Grace had a litter of puppies after she was rescued that are also available.
