Goofy

Goofy is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up! Meet Goofy! Goofy is a 7 month old male. Our vets say that he's a retriever mix, but we think he's got some pittie mixed in possibly! He has the CUTEST overbite. It's hard to see in pictures, but it's there and it's adorable! Goofy is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own. Goofy currently weighs 51 pounds. Goofy is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in his current foster home. Goofy is your typical puppy and has a moderate energy level. He loves to play, but when he stops, he can be a couch potato. He is such a sweetheart. He has been super friendly with every dog he's met! Goofy has not met any cats yet, so we're not sure how he would react to them. Goofy has not met any kids yet, but we would be happy to test him with children for any potential adopter. He is SO sweet, so we know he'll pass with flying colors. Due to his puppy playfulness, he may be suited for children ages 8+. Goofy is still learning to walk on a leash (again, still a young pup). He does really well if he has his foster sibling to guide him on the walk. He'll even stop to sniff around and will then try to catch up to his foster sibling. Goofy is fully potty trained! His foster family has a doggie door and he uses it when he has to go out to potty. If the doggie door is closed, he will sit and wait by the door to be let out to potty. Goofy is also crate trained! He goes into the crate when his foster family is away from the home for work and errands and he does well. Goofy is great about sharing his food, toys & treats with his furry foster sibling! They eat right next to each other and he doesn't have any issues. Goofy's ideal family would be an active family or a family that has another dog for him to play with. Again, he has puppy energy, so someone who is active or has a yard for him to play in. He LOVES other dogs and would really enjoy having a doggie sibling to play with. Here are a few things that Goofy's foster mom had to say about him: He seems to be very smart and he is definitely his namesake; GOOFY! He has the sweetest disposition and wants nothing more to make friends with everyone he meets (dog or human). We have not noticed any negative behaviors or quirks from Goofy. He is good with meeting strangers. He is cautious at first, but you can tell he wants to be brave and meet them. Once he knows they mean him no harm, it's game on and you'll be best friends! He is very playful. He is a happy boy considering he was living on the streets and getting beat up by the other dogs. That has not dampened his love for other dogs or humans though. He is a great communicator. He will bump you with his nose to get your attention. After playing, he loves to lay beside you and get all the loving's a good boy deserves, so he can be quite the love bug also. He is a sweetie through and through and just wants to make you happy.
