My Story

Meet Glover! Glover was taken to Bonita Shelter after being found a stray in Ramona, and when he wasn't claimed during his hold period, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on September 6, 2022. Glover is around 10 years old and weighs 21 lbs. He let us know upon arrival that he didn't like being his kennel or in the play yard. It was as if he was trying to tell us that he shouldn't be here, because he had a family and home to get back to! Sadly, no one came for him, and we worked to steadily to earn Glover's trust and to give him enriching activities and experiences. He loves going our weekly FFF hikes, and he has great leash manners, energy and stamina. Glover spent months being foster by FFF's founders, and it was in their home, he truly began to decompress and blossom into a member of a pack and family. Since the beginning of December 2023, Glover went to live in another Foster home, and we received a greatl update from his foster family: "This fine boy is coming along leaps and bounds! Glover is really starting to show his personality and is clearly feeling secure. He is so much more relaxed with us and around us, his ears spend more time up with curiosity and less time down with fear. He's definitely very attached to his humans now, is doing so much better with our two dogs, but still has some separation anxiety, barking a lot when we're not home. Glover no longer vehemently resists a walk, and now happily trots along with our 2 non FFs, taking time to smell all the smells along the way. He knows where he lives, finds his way on leash up the front walkway, and has not been tempted to do a runner out of the front door. We've taken him out a lot more in the car, which he seems to really enjoy, and this weekend we're going to see how he does on a weekend away in the RV!" Glover has a patient and loving foster family, who is giving him time to feel safe, and celebrating small steps forward. Now, Glover just needs a forever family willing to do the same. Might it be you?
