Ginger was found on the streets of Alton, IL and was taken to animal control. The owner named on her microchip has been deceased since 2020. We assume family or friends have been caring for Ginger since. Her stray hold is up and she needs a family experienced with salty, sassy Chihuahuas. Ginger is 13 years old and rules the roost. She can be sweet most of the time, but if she does not get her way, she becomes snappy. She does not like meeting new people, so be prepared to bribe her with treats. She is very food motivated. Ginger hates to be picked up, so bathing and nail trims will require a muzzle… maybe even sedation. She hates going outside but she is potty pad trained. She might be good with dogs but we doubt it. We wouldn’t even try with cats. We really need to find Ginger that special family. She cannot live the rest of her life in foster care.
