My Story

Ginger spent her life chained to an upside down chest freezer with a hole cut in it as a door. Year after year she watched the world go by from the end of her chain. And year after year she had puppies.....nine litters to be exact. Finally a guardian Angel talked Ginger's owner into letting her have Ginger and her puppies just before the cold and snow blew in. When Ginger arrived at Camp Jean she had a huge tumor, overgrown toenails and was about 15 pounds underweight. A little grooming and some groceries and she felt better. Then surgery to remove the tumor made her feel even better. The vet feels the tumor was benign and should not be a continual problem. Now Ginger sleeps on the bed and rolls over for belly rubs. She is very quiet, it is easy to forget she is even there. She gets overwhelmed by the young dogs, but gets along fine with my older, calm dogs. She is good with cats and loves kids. Ginger would now love a home of her own where she can live out her golden years as someone's treasured friend. All she asks for is a soft warm bed! Ginger's adoption fee is $100.
