My Story

small sweetie seeking safety and love!GINGER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Ginger Best Guess for Breed: Pekingese and poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of August 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 6 pounds and 3 ounces Gets Along With: Ginger does well with other dogs. She hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here! Special adoption considerations: Ginger comes from a commercial breeding operation and has never lived in a home before. The breeding operation has been shut down, and this adorable pup now has the chance to learn what its like to be a real dog. Ginger is Looking For: Her forever home! This small sweetie has not seen nearly enough of the world. She has so much to see, so much to do and she's seeking her own humans to do it all with. Starting with sniffy walks around her neighborhood - all the way through exploring the world - yes, please! an extra-cushy dog bed, quality kibble, yes, that too. And lots of snuggles and cuddles too! One thing to remember is that Ginger is very small and the world is very big, so she is eager for someone who understands that she needs a little help to become used to everything. Ultimately she wants to be trotting along with all the confidence of a well-loved dog, on her own four paws - not in a purse. She'd also like to go to obedience training so she learns to follow commands instead of being picked up and moved about. Most of all, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she has so much to give - adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does Ginger have a spot on your lap and in your life? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this after she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
