My Story

PLEASE CALL 908 531-1003 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING IN THIS POOCH. This is an urgent situation and also a very sad one. Gibran and his "brother" Bijou, had one guardian all their lives. She has since passed away from brain cancer and her animals are missing her immensely. Her 91 year old mom is caring for the dogs the best she can but she has limited mobility and trying to look after 2 dogs is taking a toll. It was decided that while she really does not want to give up these poor animals since they are a part of her daughter, it is sadly the only option they have.

Gibran is a sweet and fun loving guy for his age. He is 10 years old but you would never know it. He still likes to play fetch and is very friendly when anyone comes in the house. He loved the attention I gave him while I was taking his picture and was just a happy guy who still has a lot of life and love left to give. Gibran is maybe 40 pounds and is a well behaved and would make a fine addition to someone looking for an older pet who has house manners. He still has a spark in his eye and would appreciate a home where he would get walked and get to play fetch with his person. Because he has never been around kids, while we think he would be fine, for his sake we would rather place him in a home without small children.

Gibran is up to date at the vet and is neutered. He is a nice size dog and doesn't look to be 10 years old except for some tell-tale gray around his muzzle. He desperately needs to be rehomed since he is a handful for a 91 year old woman who has difficulty getting around. He is obviously very much loved and has been treated well all his life. Please don't be put off by his age - I was pleasantly surprised to see how agile he still is and he will make a fine companion to someone willing to give a senior gentleman a nice place to hang in his twilight years. This would be a tremendous save and you would make a lovely older woman and her dying daughter very happy if you opened your heart and home to this wonderful boy. We would even consider an offer to foster Gibran if you are willing to take him in even on a temporary basis, altho we would prefer a more permanent situation in order to avoid traumatizing him too much with several moves.
