Meet Ghost
Guys! I was toast. Toast. Not the bread kind but as the humans use the word as a euphemism for in a lot of trouble. Plus I’m the color of lightly browned toast. My story is unfortunately a common one in the south.
A nice sweet hospice nurse was checking in on someone in my old neighborhood and saw me living chained and abandoned at a house next door.
As in that saying from the movie Grease, the musical, not the bacon one, people who leave dogs tied up to fend for themselves is the rats, or fleas and amoebas on fleas on fleas type. The lady with pink hair said that.
The collar was so tight it was piercing through my thick coat down to my skin. It did not feel nice. I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t run, I couldn’t look for food or water.
You think existing in that way would make a dog grumpy or jaded. But nope. I still turned out sweet and adoring and happy and waggy. And resilience should be most dogs middle names.
First and foremost thank you to my rescuers! I will make a great dog for someone who knows dogs should live in houses. I’m a Great Pyrenees mix. One lady thinks maybe mixed with Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever because something about my hints of gold and face shape. Who knows!
It is sometimes hard to tail…oops…tell the age on dogs that had a hard knock life, but I’m maybe 3 years old! Foster Mom will ask Vet to make a better guess. And speaking of tails. Mine is fabulous!!
I am hoping for a very happy tail for the rest of my life! Is it with you?
Basics:
Ghost - neutered male, 3 years old (rough guess), large, creamy white, Great Pyrenees (maybe mixed with Retriever), good with dogs, good with kids, not cat tested, sweet, happy, grateful
