George is a charming Beagle pup who was found wagging his tail on the porch of a family’s home when they returned from vacation. A neighbor had seen someone letting George out of a car, before they drove off at high speed. Apparently George sat there looking confused for a few minutes, and then, as if he’d made up his mind, he trotted up the road top his foster family’s house and sat down to wait for help. The neighbor tried to help by offering George some food and water, but George was staying put. He’d made up his mind about where he wanted to be, and that was that!
By the time George’s foster family got home, he’d been patiently sitting on the porch for several days. After an interesting welcome home for George’s new foster family, and lot’s of tail wagging and licks, George made himself at home.
George is a charming young guy who loves company, and easily makes friends. He’s about four to five months old, and will grow to be around 15 to 20 Lbs as an adult.
George is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, so she may not be available to meet every Saturday except for holiday weekends at the DogsOnly adoption showing at Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot. Please contact DogsOnly at the email address shown below to make sure that George will be available for you to meet at Petco.

We always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. An adoption fee is charged for George’s adoption. Puppies are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times.
All DogsOnly volunteer fosters work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. Only one of the DogsOnly foster families have cats so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our Independent, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
An adoption fee is usually involved which helps to cover the cost of medical care and vaccinations.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 private Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons. This does not mean that there is something wrong with any of our rescued companions, it just means we help the ones others tend to leave behind.
Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
