Meet George, a lovable and absolutely adorable Newf/Retriever mix who was picked up as a stray in very bad condition. When found, sweet George was covered in numerous hotspots which had become badly infected. George was weak, in severe pain and in need of surgery to clean his wounds and treat the infections. Within a few days of surgery he was feeling better and was up and around looking for some much needed love, and is well on his way to a full recovery. George has a great desire to be with people, and he easily charms his way into the hearts of everyone he meets. His friendly and loving personality shines through and this special boy wants nothing more than some loving and lots of belly rubs! He will happily roll onto his back for a good scratch whenever the opportunity present itself. His age is estimated to be between 6-8 years of age and he appears to be in overall good health. His teeth are in good shape, however there is evidence that he has been chewing metal -- likely either chewing a chain he was left tied to, or a fence he was contained within. George is getting along fine with the other dogs that he is meeting in our care, and seems to be a well adjusted, gentle boy with an easy going personality. George is in the care of the Newf Friends Newfoundland Dog Rescue.
